SHV seeks to track the ICE Short US Treasury Securities Index, which contains US Treasury securities with a remaining maturity of less than 12 months. Investments in the fund are appropriate for those seeking preservation of capital and limited income. SHV is subject to interest rate risk, as bond prices tend to decrease when interest rates increase.

When SHV declines in value, we’ll automatically sell it and buy the alternate as part of our tax-loss harvesting strategy.
